That is awesome. The person who posted "Well, your parents pay your bills, so stop second-guessing people AND THEIR VETS on the Internets" FTW.

What a bitch.

"I'm sorry your dog is dying, but you fail at life for not putting yourself heavily into debt for your dog!"

Wanker.

7000 US dollars for surgery? That's like AU$12,000.

Sorry guys, but if I owned that dog and it needed $7000 of treatment to live, it would be a goner, the vet would be giving it the good death pronto. And I've got the money (I'd have to sell some investment real estate or go into really nasty credit card debt, but yeah, I've got the ability to raise $7000) AND I'm a member of the stupidpetowner's snark community.

I really like my pets, on some level I would call it love, but still... $7000? No.

ya, that's what I was thinking too. How much time with your beloved pet would you be buying for your 7 grand?

I've got it in savings, thanks be to God, but I'd sure be looking at time/benefits for that amount of money. It would be something I'd discuss with my vet and knowledgeable friends, not some snotty 20-year-old DOCTOR ELL JAY.

Crap, now my habit of deleting my own comments for silly reasons is being exposed to even more people.

Yeah, I thought it was all pretty unreasonable as well. It seems odd to me that some animals lovers are so unwilling to show a little compassion and/or understanding towards other people. What happened to loving the human animal?

Hmmm. Not feeling it here so much honestly.

I get if you think there's a $200 dollar difference (based on the misreading) that is within the realm of pawn/sell so that your pooch can live - making up a $6500 difference is ugly. So it wasn't really a "sell everything you own" sort of thing based on the misreading of the cost.

And after that it all spirals out of control.

Emotions run high, names get called, weapons are brandished... it can only end in tears.

The biggest stupid I see here is people talking at each other not to each other.
