Remember the breastfeeding icon wank from months ago?  Well, now MYSPACE is being exposed!!!!!!!!!!

f@($&%! Myspace!!!!1!!1
Someone in one of the breastfeeding communities brought this to my attention. There's a woman that Myspace is threatening to remove from the site because she continues to post pictures of herself breastfeeding her child. I'm ( Read more... )

I was just going to post this - natural doesn't mean everyone needs to see it, and keeping some things relatively private does not mean those things are shameful. I bet myspace does not let people upload pictures of urinating penises or vaginas with babies popping out, even though those sex organs are not being used for sexual titillation at that time.

I am *not* trying to start a discussion about breastfeeding in public vs urinating in public, or anything like that.

I work for a social networking site, and this is what I do. I remove the BOOBIES!

haha. anyway. Our policy is that there needs to be a top on a person, and a bottom. I've never removed any breast feeding shots (I've never seen any), but I've removed plenty of boobies.

And if someone was showing breast feeding and their breasts were hanging all over the place, I'd remove their picture too. Myspace pays for the servers, they say what goes on their site.

what would have happened if say, Rosa parks simply stopped riding the bus because she didn't want to have to sit in the back?

Do I misremember my history lessons, or is that not PRECISELY WHAT HAPPENED?

Yes, and so did the HUNDREDS of jobs lost, people arrested and folks terrorized for well over a year (note to boob nazis: the bus boycott was much longer than your LiveJournal boycott). Oh, and Parks got arrested. Let's see any one of those dumb bitches take it THAT far.

Haha, I just got a mental image of some cop slapping a pair of handcuffs over these crazy womens' boobs.

flashing their tatas and weewees

OK, anyone who uses terms like this seriously loses all credibility.

Not to mention they aren't allowed to show their penises &... actually, what is a 'tata'? Breasts? Vagina? Well whatever, I doubt Myspace's rules will allow people to flash theirs.

This hurts my brain.

I'm guessing this isn't unusual...

You think the reason why black mothers are the least likely to breastfeed is because the women they spoke to about it said stupid shit like this?

No, I think it has more to do with the fact that a much higher percentage have to work outside the home, both now and historically. Though, if someone went around comparing breatfeeders to Rosa Parks in person to new black moms, I can't imagine it inspiring those moms to listen. I almost wish someone WOULD make that comparison in real life. I would love to see the resulting LJ entry.

"OMG, I tried to be nice to the black girl in the hospital with me and say I was breastfeeding for her rights like Rosa Parks and all she did was yell at me! Kri!"

I was being sarcastic. While I've heard BFers say some astonishingly stupid shit, I don't think even they would go *that* far. No, we get the patronizing, "dumb darkie girls obviously don't know any better" kind of speeches.

Which begs the question that if they knew better than to do it in real life to actual POC, why the fuck do they think it's ok online?
