I ain't even mad. Really.

Of course I'm not pissed off that I'm not at BotCon right now. Not at all. Not in the slightest. I am in no way being eaten up with jealously at the thought of not getting to meet the writers and artists and voice actors of my favorite continuity and not buying any comics or getting any autographs, fuck you California one day I will just cut you ( Read more... )

I want to be a complete nerd and hand-feed the caterpillar.

Yes, I realise I misrepresented your intent with careful editing but never mind that, I want you to do this. And take video! And name it something spiffy!

That documentary sounds awesome; I'm jelly.

AND CONGRATS FOR BABY BRO.

I tried hand-feeding it. It wasn't interested. :( But I did get a fifteen-second video of it eating some attached parsley leaves, because apparently it's a snob that way.

I don't know how to link to the video so that it appears as a public post, but if you're logged in to Facebook you can watch it here: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1810418300156&saved#!/video/video.php?v=1810418300156

It didn't really hit me how old Baby Bro is until I looked at his graduation photos after I hadn't seen him for a few days and it sort of hit me that he looked like...well, like a grown-up. I had no idea what to do with that.

fuck you California one day I will just cut you off the side of the country and bring you over here so you can stop hogging everything. >:(

You've got all the sympathy in the world from me on this one. It's kind of why there is a 'fuck you Pasadena' tag in my Livejournal. ^^a *hugs*

Also, I love how it's your plan to have someone else poke the smelly thing while you take pictures. Clever move, LOL.

Between this and Comic-Con, I'm pretty bitter about nothing being on the East Coast, let me tell you.

Fortunately, the caterpillar hasn't actually stunk at me yet no matter how often I poke at it, probably because I back off after said poking. I got a bit of video out of it, too!

We have New York City. You would think there would be cons there. But no. :P

Isn't it? It's just incredible coming back every day and seeing how much bigger he's gotten, and looking at how fast he can eat. He's almost an inch and a half long now, and he started off at maybe a centimeter.

Also that parsley is more or less completely gone, so I hope Mom wasn't too attached to it.

Hee! Your statement re: California is so perfect. I want it to be repeated everywhere, all the time.

I vicariously and from the safety of a distant computer screen enjoy your bug interest and photographic prowess.

Why isn't everything that's in California on the East Coast or the Midwest or somewhere that doesn't require an eight-hour plane ride and huge hotel bills? It ticks me off, I tell you. Comic-Con and BotCon and the Graumann's Theater are all too far away!

I don't know why I find him so amusing. He's just so determined in his munching!

Just so you know, I named the caterpillar Ralph and/or Ralphette in my head. This is important information, clearly.

Also CONGRATS TO THE YOUNGER BOY-TYPE MUPPET SIBLING UPON HIS RELEASE FROM STALAG 13 AKA HIGH SCHOOL. :D

I had named him Norman/Normina, but I think I like Ralphette better. She/He looks like a Ralph/ette, what with his wiggliness and chomping motions.

He pretty much took off for Beach Week as soon as he graduated, to paintball and play golf and all. I think he's quite pleased with himself.
