L.A. Times features a not-too flattering article about "Studio 60": "Comedy writers aren't laughing about 'Studio 60': Some in the biz openly disdain the series set at a late-night sketch show"
But it also ran a sidebar on how it's the year's most "timeshifted" primetime show:

It is generally accepted that doctors hate shows about doctors, lawyers hate shows about lawyers, and so on. So perhaps it's the order of things that many comedic writers appear to hate Aaron Sorkin's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," the dramatic series about a "Saturday Night Live"-like comedy show. But is it natural for them to take such pleasure in it?
What would tick a comedy writer off more than someone coming in and showing the rest of the world that they generally are a bunch of drama queens.
I think they don't like it because as much as they rail against it deep down they know that is some truth in what is being said.
That first sentence of the article says it all...
I think it's a case of sour cheese and hard grapes :D

Secondly, where are people getting this idea that the show is an examination of what goes on in a writers' room? First, FicS60 is a show written by a single off-the-wall talent, supported by "you know, a couple of other guys". Second, Studio 60 not about that at all, but about the schisms within contemporary America, a fact which most bloggers appear unable to get their heads around.
I can't actually read the article without signing up to the LA Times, which I don't feel like doing just to hear Sorkin trashed for the millionth time, hence no more detailed protest about what they're on about.
Merry Christmas to you, too!

Secondly, SNL has been crap for years, IMHO. I don't watch S60 for the 'situation' - I watch it for the characters. And the discussion of the power of television. So would someone shut these guys up who feel the need to keep talking about S60 simply so they can get more hits to their web pages? It's becoming way too apparent what they're trying to do, IMHO.
