Cupid Redux

The New York Times reports that ABC has ordered a new drama series titled Cupid, "about a character who may or may not be the Roman god of love."  Um.  Yeah.  That show got made already.  '98-'99.  Lasted half a season.  See IMDB.  And ABC aired the first one, too.

It's deliberate, and involves some of the same people. I don't know a lot of details, but the little bit of scuttlebutt I've seen has the needle hovering somewhere between sequel and remake. Not quite sure how that works, exactly.

Mostly I'm seeing objections to its being transplanted to LA, since Chicago was pretty much a character in the original.

It's curious to see it being reported as new without any nod to its roots. And by the NYT, which should know better.
