I decided to re-vamp the brownie recipe. Did I say it was foolproof? Yes, but never mind that. I wanted moist, I wanted dense, I wanted flaky top and crusty edge. Did not end up making another batch of blondies this weekend. Did end up making a cake. Will probably need to make another batch of brownies/blondies this week, though, as ROG and LeRoi keep dropping hints heavy as anvils. Anyway...

Have now made three four batches of brownies and three of blondies.

The first batch of brownies were pretty good, if slightly over-cooked (as mentioned already).

The second batch of brownies were okay, but I forgot to add vanilla.
The first batch of blondies were too much like cupcakes for my liking.

So, now the last Wilton Level 1 class is done. I got a certificate and everything. (Everyone got a certificate just for showing up, but whatever.) After the cupcake experience (the experience of making a bunch of cupcakes and then being so disorganized that I decorate nary a one of them), I was so not into the idea of going through that again.
