last night (etc.)

- 5 hours of sleep. Woo hoo.

- I ate far too many carbohydrates last night (I'm not admitting to anything specifically, but I will say that a bag of lime-kissed Tostitos was purchased) and I credit this for my attack of the rowing machine at the gym this morning. I don't usually start *and* end strong on that machine.

- Made it to Safeway to buy flowers for the new office-mate. Yellow tulips. Now if only he would come in and see them.

- I feel like I've been pretty successful as far as the social aspects of my office go. I made it to the coffee shop yesterday to bring in a fresh bag of whole bean (we'd been out for a week, and it was my turn to buy), which is a deal I have with my [old] office-mate. Flowers for the new office-mate was a deal I made with my supervisor. (I was supposed to bring them in yesterday but, eh; my perfection faltered (no surprise there).) I talked way too much at yesterday's welcome lunch, but I'm hoping that my version of too much talking is everyone else's idea of just enough.

- Now that I have two office-mates, I'll need to come up with a nickname for the new one. He has a most awesome surname: Natividad. His nick should be a play on that.

In other news:

- Yesterday, mom asked to borrow a not insignificant sum. And she's already stressing me about it, so I'll have to get her a check today.

- I received a call from one of dad's creditors earlier this week. No big deal, I thought; he doesn't need that service anyway. Yesterday I received a letter from a second creditor. This one is a big deal, I think, so I will have to take care of it someway.

- My [old] office-mate just shared a really lucid dream he had yesterday. This reminded me that I hadn't written down a dream that I had some weeks ago. I shared it with someone via chat, but didn't post it here. So I'll c and p the chat transcript.

stuberyl: you were in my dream yesterday. sort of.

Ramon: Sweet! Was it a fun dream, at least?

stuberyl: it was a short dream. not un-fun, but not much happened. a bit of a puzzle, really.

Ramon: Oh? Well, puzzles are sometimes fun. What *did* happen?

stuberyl: seedy motel, night-time. i was living in the motel and just leaving my room to do something. you had pulled up in a brown/tan car with friends of yours (band-mates or wrestlers) and y'all were checking in and carrying stuff from the car to your room. i recognized that it was you but wasn't sure whether to say hi, since we were scheduled to meet the next day. there was this rusty half-falling down chain link fence separating our two sections of the motel. i walked around or through it to make sure that it actually was you. at this point the question of whether or not to introduce myself was nullified as you saw and recognized me. so then we met.

Ramon: The end of the dream...?

stuberyl: that was pretty much it.

stuberyl: the color scheme was very brown/tan, from clothing to landscape to cars.

Ramon: Normally I'd have some things to say about the different elements of the dream, but I find it interesting that it was a seedy, run-down motel that all this happened in. :)

Ramon: And the fact that that entire motif was so strong. :)

Ramon: But, hey, it's a dream. Sometimes our guesses miss the point entirely. :)
