im off to college, and not just for the weekdays

so this is my third weekend here at college and a lot of my friends left to go home, including my roommate. while its nice to have the room to my self, i just dont understand it. we left for college. we left to become (slightly) independent. we didnt leave so we could return home every week.

Not everyone has an easy transition to college, even if they're excited about it. For some people, it's just nice to be back at home. For other people, it's not that they're not ready to be on their own, but that they miss some parts of home- namely friends/family/pets. I don't think it's unreasonable to go home this weekend, because it's a holiday weekend and you get a little longer at home if you want to go home (plus, for some people, they have to travel further away to get home and a normal weekend would barely give them any actual time at home). It doesn't mean they're going to go home every weekend ( ... )

almost all of the people i was talking about live within an hour or so of here and a good majority have already gone home at least once.

for the most part im not giving people a hard time for going home. people are giving me a hard time for staying here. if it came out the other way, i am sorry and i will try to be clearer next time.
