An Old Hospital.

Last week, I managed to gain access to the abandoned Forest Park Hospital with some friends. The building is very much in tact, and still has light in some areas. Now, it has only been abandoned for a little over a year, but for the most part, aside from some water damage, the place is in good condition. I will note though, it's interesting what

That's the same hospital where my mom died. Interesting that it's still in decent shape even after being abandoned.

why was it abandoned?

The Forest park Hospital was a part of the St. Alexius Hosiptal network. It was abandoned due to a decline in income, and overall use of the facility. Towards the end, most of the patients they took in were non-emergency walk-ins.

Some background on the property

The St. Louis Zoo is planning on purchasing the property, so I don't expect it to stay empty for too much longer.
