I don’t think so.

As much as I love the rise in popularity of women’s roller derby I despise it to the same level.  Anything that becomes popular is bound to be perverted and copied and, in that imitation, diluted.  Derby and derby girls are consider cool and edgy, partially due to the the punk, subversive, underground, DIY nature of the sport. Here's my thing: if you push them and they don't fall down, then respect. And if they do, point and laugh.

A true derby girl test!

BTW, sorry I've been out of it lately. The work on my cave has been delayed and I've been feeling kinda crappy. I seem to have a mild case of vertigo. It causes my head to spin and made me almost lose my balance at my hair salon the other day. It sucks and it's scary but, worst of all, it's delaying the CXN until August. :-(

Hope you're well, darlin.

Hmmm. I know exactly what you mean. In the UK, certain things suddenly become fashionable, and then prices rocket, the scene becomes diluted by copycat tossers, resulting in the people who were there first getting forced out in favour of a newer, prettier intake, who won't be there in six weeks time. See the rugby craze of a few years ago (when England actually managed to find a sport that we could win at), the cricket craze of a few years later (see above), and the assholes in sportswear, who get a half-inch crop, with a one inch stripe, claim to have a mohawk (which they incorrectly call a (phonetically) "moeekun") and proceed the rip the piss out of those of us who do it properly.....

Grrrr.... Do I sound bitter? xxxx

"Grrrr.... Do I sound bitter?"

Not in the least, luv bug! ;-) Or, no more bitter than I sound. At least you can be secure in the knowledge that your "moeekun" is real and true & truly magnificent!
