So I've had numbness in my right hand for about 5 days now: little finger, a little of the top of the ring finger, up the muscle on the side of the hand, behind the knuckles on the back of the hand, sometimes up the forearm, occasionally in the upper arm. Not that's there's no feeling at all, more like a bumped-my-funny-bone feeling... except that ( Read more... )

wow, that is pretty scary. Neurological is so weird. I am glad that it just seems to be a pinched nerve. Don't you feel like a professional athlete now with those steroid shots?

Look as long as you don't pick up a bat or ride in the Tour De France I think you'll be ok. I dont know if they steroid test in academics- although I think they should, I've heard crazy stuff coming from the Poultry Science department- but as long as ALL of your students dont get A's, your legacy and hall of fame status should be untainted.

In other steroid-related news, Barry Bonds broke the home run record last night.

hahahahaa....

but in all seriousness...anytime i feel anything out of the ordinary...i assume it's diabetes. All of my family has it, and the doctors tell me i will eventually have it...so i just sit around and wait for it to hit me....

but i am glad they figured out what your problem was, that's a step in the right direction!

feel better!

Yikes! I'm sorry you had to go to the doc, but I'm glad it was something comparatively treatable as opposed to heart disease/MS/Parkinson's/other assorted scariness.

Incidentally, my mom had the same thing pretty recently, hers as a result of poor ergonomics at work and a ridiculous amount of muscle tension in her back & shoulders. But she is feeling much better now. Hope you get back to normal soon, too. :-)
