behind cut because of implications
Sky stared at the broken, battered body of his childhood playmate, the future queen of Lovelylocks (and the one called the Seer, cursed, blessed with her mother's gift). Specialists didn't cry - so, it had to be the broken sprinkler system in the lab that was causing the water to rush down his cheeks. Carefully, almost afraid of further breaking her, he gently broke the chains that had her bound to the table. He slowly, carefully scooped her up, holding her close to his chest.
"Did you find her?" Kae's voice called, hoping against hope that his cousin was still alive. She just had to be - he didn't want to tell Uncle Philip or Aunt Melisande that.. He shook himself. No, she was alive and that was all there was to it. He worried his lower lip as he headed in the direction he had seen Sky run in.
Sky glanced down at the female, brushing the matted dark hair off her face. He knew he should say yes, that he had found her, but.. No, it wouldn't be fair to Kae or Tash if he lied and said he hadn't - even if their little cousin was in such bad shape. "Yeah," he called back. "I found her."
Christine gave a soft moan, her eyes closing tightly in pain. A vision exploded in her mind and she was too weak, too broken to give it voice. Nothing good came to those in Lost Souls - nothing good.
