"My hands are at your throat and I think I hate you," Z'neth murmured softly, quietly singing along, listening to one of the songs on the MP3 player he managed to find on the last run [it worked on a wing and a prayer - Summit managed to get the damn thing working again but it wasn't exactly without its issues].
A slightly hissed noise drew his attention away from what he was working to seeing Ilona stalking out of the room, clearly not happy with him. He glanced over at Peak, who was giving him the Look.
"Um, Big Z? Not your best choice of wording," Peak said. "I know you're singing along with that song, but seriously, mentioning strangling someone? Not the best thing to do near Ilona."
"Do I want to know?" Z'neth asked, already somewhat dreading the answer.
"Attor tried to strangle her," Peak said quietly. "Nearly succeeded before you gave Attor the migraine from hell."
Z'neth rose quickly and threw the player away. He raced after Ilona and embraced her from behind. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he breathed into her twilight colored hair. "I didn't know, I didn't know."
Ilona turned slowly and gave him a teary smile. "I forgive you."
"I'll delete that song from the playlist," he promised.
She nodded and hugged him tightly.
