You guys, I wrote something!!! I actually wrote (and finished) a fic for the first time in years! It is called Interlude and it was written in a response to a prompt by misspamela that said: Charles surprises Erik by pinning him against a wall and going down on him. I also took this opportunity to upload the rest of my old bandom fic to AO3. In the process, ( Read more... )

i thought it might be the tardis because you could hear the bell thingy (lol don't know the proper name) in the background when he opens the door. AND WHAT IS UP WITH THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN?

i really do hope they tell us what he saw though. just like i hope they tell us what river and the doctor whispered to each other in those two episodes.

also i deny deny deny. river has to come back. i love her so much. ugh. and the poooooonds. why is it over? :( it hurt almost as much as donna, except donna doesn't remember so she doesn't have to think about what she might be missing.

FEELINGS. I HAVE THEM.

Huh, I didn't notice the TARDIS noise. But why would he be afraid of the TARDIS? I have no idea what the do not disturb sign was all about. To mark his room? To dissuade the others from going in?

I'm pretty sure River is going to be around for a while to come. She has her whole notebook to fill out, after all. And I also got the feeling when we first saw her (with Ten) that she'd already seen several incarnations of the Doctor. Also, I'm again pretty sure we haven't seen the last of the Ponds, since Karen Gillan at least has signed up for next season.

I STILL WANT THEM TO FIX DONNA. :(

i heard the tardis sound, idk if it actually was the tardis. i mean, it was about faith, not fear, right? or did the room have to be scary first. maybe it was the tardis dying? i mean, amy's was her younger self... hmmm. maybe his planet? but no, he says something along the lines of 'of course it was you' ...maybe himself. ahhhh. so many thoughts.

i'm secretly hoping they do keep river for several regenerations but idk if it'll happen. I WISH I WISH I WISH. i mean, i know they said next season will have a new companion, but i think it's too much to hope that it turns out to be river. can it be rita, then? haha.

i know amy and rory and river will stick around for a bit, but knowing they are not full-time companions now makes me sad. i was not ready for it. it was too soon! unless they DO come back as full-time companions. ugh, can we keep them forever?

YES. I'M STILL HOPING THERE IS A UNIVERSE/TIMELINE WHERE THEY DO. &DONNA;

I thought the room had a person's worst fear in it, and then the faith they had in whatever they believed in would grow stronger because they'd believe that their God (or whatever) would save them from their fear. The Doctor said something like, "You. Who else?" so it was probably a person (or being, you know, if we're talking the TARDIS).

If they don't keep River around, I will be SORELY DISAPPOINTED.

I will definitely miss Rory and Amy, but I'm kind of excited for a new companion. Amy's been around for two seasons now, and that's pretty standard for new!Who.

I did like Rita a lot! I was kind of hoping she'd stick around. :(

idk, I mostly got a wait and see feeling from this episode. I feel like the next episode is going to have to be something MAJOR. Like this episode is the calm before the storm sort of thing.

I both loved and hated the Doctor letting Amy and Rory go. Because it's probably better for them. BUT ADVENTURES.

Inorite? :(

I actually completely forgot what the preview for the next episode was about, other than Craig is going to be coming back. Oh wait, Wiki says there's also Cybermen! I don't know that it's going to have something major or just set up the season finale.

It was so sad. Poor Doctor. Poor Amy and Rory. :((((

lol I just rewatched the end so I could see the Doctor's room again and the next episode doesn't look like it's going to be major in the way I expected. I don't know, I felt like before they were interspersing the River episodes with other episodes in a way that was more... balanced? And if they are actually just dropping the River storyline where they left it, I'll be kind of disappointed. Only you can replace kind of with EXTREMELY if you want to be accurate ( ... )

We'll be seeing River in the finale at least, and it's probably going to be a call back to the first episode of this season. I mean, they have to resolve the Doctor dying. I'm still not sure how they're gonna be pulling that off. Maybe using the flesh again? Although I'm kind of tired of that storyline.

I wonder how many regenerations River went through before becoming the one we know (Alex Kingston). I get the feeling it's not that many, which is totally unfair. :(

YYYYYY, there's definitely that similarity. I need to listen to the minotaur's final little speech again, because I think it was pretty accurate. Although I'm not sure about the part where he said that a creature so old would get tired of living and be accepting of their death. I can't see the Doctor really wanting to die.

Hi, lurker here :)

The progression to the Doctor letting go of Amy and Rory surprised me when I saw it, but now that I think about it I can really see the build up to this moment over the past few episodes especially. I wouldn't say River's storyline is resolved, although it does feel a bit like they dropped the ball on her arc. There is a chance it's because of some complex timey-wimey reason as opposed to sloppy writing, like- I know one of the major theories is that there are two timelines or two sets of characters. As in, how the Doctor is dropping them off at a new house in this episode, but at the start of the season he picked them up from a house after having left them for some time. Are the episodes in linear order? IDK.

Also, I wanted to ask, is this you on AO3? http://archiveofourown.org/users/strobelighted/pseuds
It's the same name and all, but I couldn't find the fic there on your journal and vice versa. Just curious!

Hello there! :D

You know, I didn't really think about that. I completely forgot that Amy and Rory actually had their own house and lived there after they got married, both in the first episode and at the beginning of Let's Kill Hitler. I think I'm going to have to rewatch this latest episode to pick up on the details. Actually, I'm probably going to end up rewatching the whole season.

I agree that the River Song arc is not resolved yet, but I still think the writers think that it is. At the very least, I get the feeling they meant for the part where Amy and Rory want their daughter back and are looking for her to be resolved.

And yes, that is me! Are you referring to the XMFC fic? I only posted that one on AO3.

Yeah... it does look like the WRITERS feel like they've resolved the emotional end of Melody/River's arc. "River growing up with Rory and Amy as their friend" does NOT sit well with me as a solution to the problem of a lost child. On the other hand (and I don't now if this is completely misguided because I am not a mother) but I considered that maybe Rory and Amy never got attached to their baby because they were not there for Amy's pregnancy and the lead up to the birth. But that's... not a plot line they seem to be following, nor one that seems to suit a children's show.

I really want Amy and Rory to raise their child! But I also don't want Moffat and co. to keep using rewriting time as an easy way out.

The XMFC fic, yes! But also a few bandom fic, although i didn't carefully crosscheck. There have just been a few times when I've seen two authors use the same pseudonym, which can get pretty confusing!

I actually had the same thought, re: emotional attachment to baby. But that didn't seem to be the case, as we saw in the A Good Man Goes to War episode. I really don't think they'll get to raise River in the traditional sense. But perhaps they will have another baby??

I haven't found anyone on the internet so far who uses the same username as me, so chances are if you see it anywhere, it's probably me. :D Also, pretty much everything I've ever written should be under my "fic" tag. What may be confusing is that I only gave a couple of them titles when I put them up on AO3, since it's required there.
