My family is conspiring against me...

Jan 08, 2007 13:05

My brother and sister-in-law moved to Anchorage, Alaska four years ago. Ever since then, both they and my dad and step mom have been bugging me to visit. However, whenever I've checked into plane tickets for a family of four, prices have run anywhere from $2500 to $3200. This is more than I normally spend on TWO vacations, and it doesn't even ( Read more... )

Congratulations!!

You're going to have such a good time... and think of the memories your kids will take with them always of this trip.

Oooh, I'm so happy for you!!

Considering how horrible the past month or so has been, I was glad to have something good happen!

BTW, I haven't been avoiding you (how could I, you're so *cute*) - I've been avoiding everybody. We've had some serious health issues crop up in the family (my brother and dad, hubby's aunt and uncle). Christmas was a complete blur to me. The last surgery takes place on Jan. 22 (Bryan's aunt is having open heart surgery), so hopefully after that, things will calm down.

On a completely different note, I've been invited to participate in the Snarry Olympics again this year. Would you be willing to read through/criticize (stringently) my story as I work on it? I felt completely outclassed last year - I was writing against people like Meri Oddities, Femme, DementorDelta, etc.

Last thing - I have your Christmas present sitting on my dining room table. Do you want to do lunch in the next couple of weeks? Let me know.

*hugs*

I heard how bad it's been... One of the reasons I've been trying to stay out of your way. ::grin::

I'd be thrilled to look at your story!! Maybe it will reenergize my delinquent Snarry muse. That can be so nerve-wracking to be in company where you feel outclassed. (Even if you aren't, I think you'll do perfectly well.)

Lunch sounds great! Email me when you have a chance and we'll work something out. I'm lucky enough to have gone back to a fairly normal schedule these days.

Oh wow! That is a great surprise. I've heard Alaska is beautiful and always wanted to visit -- I'm a bit jealous :-)

Thanks - I'm excited! I'll probably bore everyone with the trip before I even get to go. *grin*
