I don't know, I'm going to jump in the deep end here and question whether maybe he's feeling frustrated that unlike you, he has not been able to adapt or keep 'in step' with you, and he's still taking the amount of time he became accustomed to initially where as you have been able to get off that much 'quicker' -- perhaps he's dissatisfied with that and feels that you're somehow 'moving away' or 'tiring' of him, looking first after your own needs and then later after his...

Who's to say what is going through his mind and how his physical performance is tied to his thought processes.... I can only assume he'd be feeling dissatisfied by his own inabilities, and also, that sense that maybe you're 'getting it done quicker' because you might be tiring of him or growing bored.
