Erm.... hey there!

So, I had hoped to have a nice little entry to catch up on everything since the last time I posted, but... uh... yeah, not happening. At least not yet. Maybe if I manage to get through a few of my semiconductor and digital logic labs backlog, physics lab (springs and hooke's law, whee!), 30 questions of electronic instrumentation homework and two ( Read more... )

When it comes to school, I just keep reminding myself what's at the end of the tunnel. A chance to actually finish a course in my case, since I didn't get that through high school or college. I can't wait to finish my courses and get my diplomas. *nods*

How long do you have left now anyway? I lose track of this kind of thing...

Well, technically I'm a junior right now, which means I've got another year. In reality, I've probably got another two years to go, barring some insane idea to double major and add Physics to the mix. Most days it feels like a waste of time, but there have been days like this past week where things start clicking into place and it feels really good to get my geek on. Really just need to keep plugging along.

And saw your post about the papers for your two courses; congratulations! Hope the rest of them go the same way.

Thanks for the support. *hugs*

I'm probably looking at a year to complete. I should be near the end of the courses now, only I procrastinated - not to mention to whole life upheaval. The thing is, I keep seeing stuff I wouldn't mind adding to the mix, and getting sidetracked. Really need to do the same and settle down to the courses I'm already enrolled in.

I know what you mean about feeling it's a waste of time somedays. In my case, it's not like I'm studying to improve my prospects, more for something productive to occupy my time. But when I'm focused on the work, I actually feel like I have some sense of purpose, instead of feeling like a waste of air. But I digress...

I assume you've looked into the whole adding Physics and are actually considering it..? (I loved Physics in high school, though I couldn't imagine doing a degree in it.)

*straggles back to LJ*

I am so ready for this semester to be over. I think a bunch of us in my instrumentation class have given up... there's just too much work to fit in one credit hour. I've resigned myself to taking it again next spring. At least I'll be better prepared for it.

Anyway. I've got the course requirements list for a Physics minor, but my advisor suggested the double major route. Apparently it would make me more attractive to employers in power generation. Thing is, my heart belongs to space and I want to work at NASA in some capacity; just not sure some days if my my brain is up to the task. I suppose NASA could use power generation people, but I like the communications system... it's hellaciously complex, especially when you're designing from the chip up... so many things can go wrong.. but it's awesome when it works. Even better would be building robots because robots are cool. :D
