You and I clearly share some childhood loves - Chalet School, Rosemary Sutcliff... Happy days.
My aunty used to have every single Chalet School book in existence but rarely let me borrow them because she didn't like me laying books face down while they were open. LOL I don't remember much about them other than I loved them and thought the stories were far superior to Enid Blyton. I seem to remember that the girls were feisty and had proper adventures.
Professionals! I used to love that too - I wasn't a proper fan but if it was on, I'd want to watch. Body and Doyle were so cool and I had a crush on Martin Shaw.
Hahah books in my family had the stuffing knocked out of them! You knew how much a book was loved by how battered it was - I feel like your aunt would have shuddered knowing we lived.
Ah the Professionals are such a weird part of my fannish landscape :) I love them.
