I... kissed Haruto.

And he kissed back.

...And it was really, really nice.

Does everyone feel this giddy afterward?

Well...I guess. I mean, I kissed Lance a few times but he never kissed back. Didn't give him the chance. Makes me think...

Well, let's just say he's on the wrong side of the tracks. Anyway! This Haruto, let me guess? Boyfriend?

Yes, he's my boyfriend. Of, let's see... three months now.

Right, right, I'll be stepped on if I hurt him. I assure you that that's the last thing I want to do.

I would undoubtedly prefer not being squished.

((...Pfft, she's going to squash him when Three's Company virus comes around.))

It's the sudden influx of oxytocin, dopamine, serotonin, adrenaline, and endorphins. It happens to everyone after a really good kiss.

...Now I'm going to have to look those up, you realize.

Well, that is how people learn. But I'll save you the trip to the library: Oxytocin helps your body develop feelings of trust and love even when you know you shouldn't have them; dopamine increases your heart rate and blood pressure all while giving you that tingly feeling; serotonin regulates your mood and makes you feel happy when you think about him; adrenaline activates your body's fight or flight response which is why you feel sort of jittery during the whole affair; endorphins block out pain so all the stress you feel can be shut down with one simple kiss...

Or maybe I'm just over-romanticizing it.

...Hmm. It's strange how there are chemicals for all of that, but I suppose it's to be expected.

...Midou, I'm not brainwashed this time, right? I'd really like to eventually kiss someone of my own free will.

No, you're not. This was entirely your own doing.

I'm grateful for that.
