:X i LOVE love love the "he isn't some stupid girl" thing. i love that it's repeated and that it seems to refer back to the earlier mention of sakuno, and it's so ryoma--brash, gutsy, a little defiant, maybe a little sulky, and very determined. admitting no possibility of failure.

Two paces between them decreases by increments, until Ryoma realises that it looks a little too much like he's waiting to be kissed. He walks around for the next week with his cap pulled down low, staring at the ground and utterly certain that everyone is laughing at him. Your Ryoma is so well written, all adorably sulky and self-conscious. And the last line! I can just imagine what Ryoma will do with Buchou all to himself. ♥
