Long time, no see. (on MMO participations, Xmas, and other random bullshit)

Cut because I don't want to spam friends pages.

My job continues to schedule me erratically. One week, I'm coming in at a decent 8:45. The next, I'm in at 9:15. Such is flex scheduling, I suppose.

Been getting pretty deep into CoH lately. I was going to try to play WoW at the same time but I don't know if I can keep up both games at the same time, ( Read more... )

Yes, seriously. I don't really care that they wiped all those things out, frankly. I thought organic webbing was kind of dumb; it wiped out a symbol of his brainpower (interestingly for all of Peter's spider-powers, his most visible and trademark power is scientifically created and not inherent). I think having Peter fool around some more with Black Cat might be interesting if not redundant. (But wouldn't that have been possible even if they had been married?) The mystical powers he gained in The Other were somewhat interesting, but they were badly defined and as a result rarely used outside of a JMS-written book ( ... )

...And even more, I was nursing a pretty deep hatred for Dan Didio and his editorially mandated killings of Beetle III(with due respect to IV who is awesome), Superboy(killed off in lieu of Nightwing, who then went on to have a terrible, TERRIBLE OYL story I don't think he's recovered from), and Bart Allen. But even in these situations, they've given these characters a sendoff, and the effects of this weighed in on the continuity of the series. Beetle got to help kick off Infinite Crisis by getting his brains blown out, and Superboy helped lead to the end by crashing into a corpse. Bart got a defining moment even as he got curb-stomped by the Rogues. If they gotta go, they got pretty good deaths.

But by doing this, Q has done it even worse, because chances are they're going to just pretend it never happened, until someone uses the loophole they left behind.

I could rant on this for hours and in fact I might put up an actual post on this after I've fully read over the entire thing.
