[Today, Slugger has decided to do some shopping in preparation for Halloween. His definition of shopping deviates from the norm in that he takes what he wants and leaves without paying, sometimes with an angry drone store-owner chasing after him and shaking a fist in the air. The irony of it is

he pauses in his walk to stare curiously at the cart, trying to lean back far enough to see what madman has such a horrific sweet tooth.]

[It can be assumed that whomever it is doesn't see Charles either by the way the cart keeps rolling forward.]

[WELP best get out of the way then, rogue shopping carts are not something he wants to deal with. stepping closer to the building, he'll cup a hand round his mouth and call out to the person steering.]

I think you lost a few bags of lollipops on your way.

[What? The cart comes to a screeching halt at Charles's side, nearly causing a candy avalanche to pour forth. Slugger looks behind him up the path he just came for anything left behind. He was sure he'd picked it all up after flying over that last bump.]

[It's Candy Mountain, Charlie!

Luke opens the door after spotting something odd out the window, only to be greeted with a giant pile of candy.

Is this for real?]

[Candy Mountain rolls to a stop in the driveway and Slugger steps out from behind it, grinning proudly. Impressed yet, Luke? He doesn't see anyone else gathering this much candy!

Slugger comes up to the garage door to open it---because where the hell else is he going to store all this candy?---but in doing so, the shopping cart begins to roll backwards down the driveway.]

[Oh, he's impressed all right. Luke starts to walk towards Candy Mountain almost like he's hypnotized by it.]

Slugger! Where did you-

[And then he notices the cart rolling backwards.]

Ah, the cart!

[strike_you_out]

[Caught between holding the garage door up and watching the cart roll away, Slugger can only stare after it with one helplessly outstretched hand.]

[Rin can't help but to stop and stare at the approaching candy tower.]

What the... ♪

[The cart appears to be having some difficulty getting over a bump in the sidewalk. Slugger peeks around from the side and tries again to roll it over, but it doesn't want to go. A few bags of candy come dislodged and fall to the ground. Caught up in his own strange business, he doesn't realize Rin is watching.]

[Oh it's that weird annoying kid.

In that case Rin feels like nabbing one of those dropped snacks for herself and walking over to see what's going on]

All that candy must be heavy. It's no wonder you're having trouble moving it. ♪

[Trouble? What trouble? There's no trouble. Get out, Rin. Slugger rounds the shopping cart to try pulling it over the crack from the front.]

Only because of the trenches. [Clearly, these sidewalks are treacherous badlands.]

[Don't worry, they're in there somewhere. Standing on the back of his cart, Slugger will pause to answer in a way he hopes will horrify her.]

No. I'm putting it into storage.

[Susan slowly raises an eyebrow.]

...Edward's office is fairly empty right now, the last time I checked.

[She can roll with it.]

[His eyes shift to the upper left as he considers this tempting idea. ...No, he can't. It would break his week-long streak of not picking on Edward that he's trying to uphold.]

Hi Slugger. That's an awful lot of candy there.

It's for Halloween.

[He seems mildly excited about it. Last Halloween he didn't get to do much of anything because of the mind-altering candy corn. But this time, if nothing too insane happened, he hoped to try and enjoy it.]
