Was virtuous and got the salad special for lunch today! ...then picked up a cupcake, because it was cute. And I wanted to take a photo, then remembered I have the Retro Camera app on my phone (an Android equivalent to Hipstamatic, etc.).

Slow day at work, can you tell?

Tragically, it was not that great! The cake part was good, but I did not care for the frosting, too peaky/sweet. (But I'm fussy about frosting, and now spoiled by a cupcake specialty shop I go to sometimes.)

Still cute, though. I love the bat!

Cute cupcake, but I am suspicious of frostings. What specialty shop do you go to? We have Scoops somewhat near us but I've never been.

I go to Babycakes in Hillcrest; I swing by when I'm taking transit home and change buses there. They have one case of cupcakes with...I think cream cheese-based frosting, and another case of ones with buttercream, and lots of varieties.

Was the large black bat edible? The cupcake is charming, but it looks too sweet for my taste, like the whole point is the frosting.

The bat was not edible, alas! Plastic pick. The cake part of the cupcake was very good; I scraped off most of the frosting because it was too sugary.
