Not...enough...clauses...

From the webpage that opened when I updated Open Office:

"Please allow us to make you aware that Sun Microsystems is glad to participate as a major contributor in the OpenOffice.org project and provide you with this update notification."

Not glad enough to pony up for a copywriter, apparently.

That sentence actually has only two clauses: the main clause, whose verb is "allow," and one subordinate clause, following the word "that," whose verb is "is." Not a very complicated structure. On the other hand, it does have three infinitive phrases: the infinitives are "to make aware," "to participate," and "[to] provide" (the "to" is implied by parallel construction). So it's kind of long. But how would you break it up into shorter sentences?

I don't see that its meaning is in any way ambiguous; there's only one way to parse it. It could perhaps be made slightly clearer by making the implied [to] explicit, but of course that would be making it even longer.

It just seems very awkward. I don't understand why they couldn't just say "Sun Microsystems is glad to participate [...] this update notification."
