The casting of Freddie Highmore as Norman Bates is ridiculously perfect. He really seems like a baby Norman Bates as played by Anthony Perkins, with the boyish smile and mannerisms. Jesus the incest subtext is super disturbing, like, OH MY GOD NORMA, but not just Norma, Norman himself is just. Very very disturbed and doesn't want his mom dating anyone ever omg, this baby serial killer, jesus. I am super uncomfortable with it, SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE. Poor Dylan. Also I find him distressingly attractive in that one scene where he's smoking in episode two. For reasons I don't entirely understand. ...I kind of want a fic where Dylan takes Norman away, and then sometimes helps Norman cover up the people he murders in his fugue states.
Oh, Shameless! I'm hoping you'll like Karen in season two.
