I would just stick to slightly warm sea salt soaks. Wait until they're more healed until you start oil massages or you'll just irritate them more.

I hope they get better and you don't get too much scar tissue or anything. That really sucks =/

Thanks. I hope so too. How can I avoid scar tissue?

There's nothing you can really do now I don't think, but once it's healed more and isn't an open wound, oil massages will help to break any scars up.

Why would he say you WANT scar tissue so they heal shut? Weird. Doctors sure know how to fix you most of the time, but when it comes to making deliberate, healed holes . . . not so much. I totally +1 x_inspire with the sea salt soaks. That'll help draw out any infection that might be brewing, and it'll help rinse off / get out any huge amounts of crusties. Also--DON'T massage it in, but vitamin e oil can help speed up your healing if you just apply it after a soak. plus, it'll help keep your ears more supple and happier, considering soaks can dry you out AND it's cold, dry wintertime. Definitely try to nudge the gunk out of there (GENTLY!) with maybe a sterile gauze pad as part of your soak, but don't force anything anywhere or you can do damage.

it SUCKS that this happened. You definitely have my sympathy.

I just did a sea salt soak, then cleaned them with hydrogen peroxide and dried them. They're oozing like crazy and there's still a little blood. I didn't try to get the gunk out because honestly, I'm too scared to try. I think tonight when I get home from work I'll soak them again and then try to push some of the shit out because it isn't going anywhere on its own.

Thanks for the advice. :)

No problem!

Although . . . hate to say it, but hydrogen peroxide is NOT what you want to be using to disinfect. It kills your healing cells, seriously. All the fizzing is it ripping open all the cells in your ears that are trying to heal. You're on antibiotics and, as long as you're careful and you don't play with your ears or stick them in your anus or anything, they should be fine with sea salt soaks. (Soaks draw out infections anyway!) I wouldn't worry about keeping it disinfected unless they start to feel infected--feeling warm to the touch, achy more than healing achy, or non-lymph colored pus comes out of them.

Good luck!

I've been told that all the fizzing is it interacting with the dirt inside wounds....i know when i use it it only fizz's on dirty-ness and also if you drop it on a clean floor it doesn't fizz but if you drop it on a floor with like dirt in the cracks it fizzes like crazy.

Another vote for warm salt soaks and generally leaving them alone. I hope you get well soon!

You poor thing!!! OMG. How traumatizing!

I pretty much echo what everyone else has said. But being around actual piercers all the time I'm here to say that you really must report that douche. He should not be allowed to pierce again. A mistake such as this is not one you can ignore, and the health department should definitely be informed.

Good luck, and heal well! Let us know how things go. :)

Be aware that medical doctors aren't very open minded about body modification.

Thus said, I'd hook up (today) with a piercer knowledgeable about stretched ears (they do exist) to take a look and perhaps help with proper jewelry selection. Not all piercers are bad!

-Whatever you do, don't put drying agents like peroxide on them, just do sea salt soaks.

Good luck, please never ever ever stretch with wood. Use s.s or glass. Always.
