With the dawn, I still go on dreaming of you...

I unlocked my 2011 scrapbook, and the post is over here for those who care. Yeah, there isn't much there yet, but I thought I'd set up the post since we're heading into 2011 this week. I did OK with the 2010 one, but I could have done better. I've got a couple more things to add to it for the end of the year, but I'll do one last update at the ( Read more... )

Oooh! Snazzy new layout! I love it! And yeah, I know what you mean about Christmas and it going by so quickly as we get older. It kind of just came and went and blah. Didn't feel too much of it this time which is odd but I guess it's just a way of life now for us. I wonder what does that?

Omigosh, I know right? This year went by really quickly and I kind of loathed it lol. I don't understand half of what happened to me and ahh, I don't know. I do hope you had a good Christmas though with your family, regardless and Santa treated you well.

By the way, did you get my Christmas card as yet? I don't know why some of them haven't been received. I mailed them all out the same day and it's frustrating. Damn mailman and postal services! :\

Ah, I forget to mention in that last paragraph that I got yours! I just pressed "post comment" too quickly. The thing is, I read out loud when I type and I thought I wrote it because it was spinning in my head and I was reading out loud as I typed but I guess my hands stopped typing lololol yes, I'm a little eccentric sometimes! :)

By the way, again -- see? THANK YOU! You're so adorable and very sweet! I can't wait to see what 2011 brings us both! Perhaps I will make a trip down to Michigan in the new year and we can meet up or something! <3

Thanks. I do too. I just realized our layouts both have the same background, haha. I tend to appreciate the holidays, so when it slips away like that it makes me sad. I guess we don't get the anticipation anymore. There used to be that little feeling you had on Christmas Eve and then all day the next day because it was Christmas, and that was all that mattered.

I hope yours was nice too. I think part of it for me is that I always feel old at the end of the year since my birthday is January 6th. So, five days after the new year starts, my age goes up, and I think that realization dawns on me. Of course, we're all also getting older, and time just seems to pass that much more quickly.

I did get your card, shortly before Christmas, and about a day before I mailed mine. :O I've been so behind the last couple of years.

I'm glad your card made it, and you're welcome. ^_^ You're very sweet yourself.

The holidays were the same for me this year (actually, they've been like that the past few years). Even the time before Christmas flies by. You're putting up the tree, and next thing you know it's January and you're taking it down. It's actually kind of sad and there never seems to be a way to slow it down.

Oh, I know. I'm hoping that if and when I have kids of my own it doesn't feel that way so much. I know my mom says she was always excited for Christmas because she liked to make us happy. I mean, while I love my family, only one is young enough to get excited the way a kid does. It just seems to happen as you get older, I think.

That might help, I hadn't thought of that. Makes sense though, on Christmas it was just me and my parents so no one really gets overly excited (though we do decorate the hell out of everything, and this year we drove around looking at lights on Christmas day).

Yeah, little kids have that way of getting excited over the whole thing. Decorating and baking like you were helps, though. When I was still in community college, they had a little tree in the student center, and you could take a card with a child's name and age on it and buy them a present. I'd often go all out since the possibility existed that that was all he or she might get for Christmas. I really enjoyed doing things like that.
