Late Love Letters

Oct 22, 2008 21:29

Shortly after Nikki and I became close, I wrote a letter for her after she visited me in my city for the first time. The letter was meant to show her, in my own curious, unorthodox way how much I missed her and how empty life seemed when she wasn't near me. I don't know why, but I never sent it, and only today did I recall its existence. She'll ( Read more... )

Love is an odd thing, it is a great equalizer in the sense that it can make us all, no matter how powerful or how invincible we think we are, become lost and wandering souls seeking the same answer: What the heck is going on?

I love that. May I quote you?

And, man, if she doesn't love you already, I bet she loves you after she reads what you've written :)

Of course you can quote me. What an honour! :)

I know she loves me. We have quite the history and it's nice to see it all come to fruition... But maybe she'll stop by and post a comment telling me to stop posting about her... Heh.

That was cute beyond belief.

I enjoy the way that you have with words-
I feel as if you keep me entranced until the final word.
Very powerful and enjoyable to read.

I can;t believe you didn't send something that beautiful to her.

I honestly didn't know whether or not to, then I got caught up on getting things ready before a contract and it just ended up collecting dust...

Oh well, better late than never, usually. ;)

Loved the entry! =D I liked thinking about the second silence concept.

Do tell how she reacts to your letter! =D

Found you through the Spotlight (I'm sure you've gotten this a lot by now) I don't know you, I've never seen you perform, and it feels kind of strange commenting on a stranger's journal, but I feel I've something to say.

Thank you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your observations, your experiences, your perspectives. It's very refreshing to see such wonderfully written commentary on a life so different from my own. I help run the Circus Club at my university - I don't know too much, but what I do know is that even if I'm out there juggling by myself for two hours, hoping that someone comes and joins me, it's all worth it if I can make one person passing by smile, if I can give one person a story to tell about that 'random juggling girl' they saw on campus today. But I ramble.

What I mean to say, is thank you for living a dream that I would never have the guts, stamina, or strength to live out myself. And thank you for being willing to share about it so openly and eloquently.

I love when people leave feedback like this, especially from someone with a love of circus all their own. Your heart sounds like it's definitely in the right place.

I'm ecstatic you like my writing. I hope you keep reading. :)

As for the dream bit, I live one and I'm blessed. But you are selling yourself short when you say you can't do something. It's like that old adage goes:
"Whether you decide you can or you can't, either way, you're right."

The adage is right, if I decided I wanted to do what you do, I probably could with the proper training and practice. But I've chosen to follow a different dream in a different field, and I'm struggling to work my way towards that. I still love to indulge in some circusy-type activities now and then, and thoroughly enough myself when I do.
