I was wondering, if the header I want to use is w=600 and it looks really narrow to have the #content width 600 pixels, is there a way to make the background behind the header image one color and the background color of the whole journal another?
Sorry, I am giving you a headache,but I'm trying to use another layout in another lj of mine and can't figure it out! lol
Snif! It didnt work! Here is the layout at my layout-testing lj -fragile-bliss THe space between the header and the border is the same color as the background and I would like to make it black! I am probably just being silly and a headache. I am so sorry! :(

Okay, let's see if I got what you meant. =D
You can select as a size for your content any size, but make sure you have the size of your header at 600px.
Go to #content and add background-color: #XXXXXX; with your choosen background-color.
Then go to #header and add background-color: XXXXXX; with you choosen background-color.
That should do the trick. ^^
