Picard awoke with a grunt, and looked down at his chest. Good, no wounds. Q had been pestering him again, attempting to make him say all sorts of disparaging things about the human race, which he refused to do. Q got angry and flung him... somewhere ( Read more... )

"You're new," says the tall woman who steps out of a nearby alley a moment later. She is bald, besides twisted brown braids that fall from the back of her head and sway with her movements, and wears simple clothing -- gray trousers, high black boots, a black T-shirt with the sleeves rolled up (her right shoulder bandaged).

Her hand hasn't moved toward the big blaster strapped at her hip yet, but it could, her manner suggests.

Picard eyes her warily. "Where in the Federation am I?"

His hand is hovering closeish to his tricorder, but he hasn't pulled it out yet.

Plourr chuckles low, shaking her head. "Uh uh. I can almost guarantee you're nowhere near whatever a Federation is."

"You haven't heard of the Federation?" He ponders. "What about the Klingon Empire?"

Rose was picking her way along the wall, not really paying a lot of attention to where she was going, just looking for whatever she could find, really.

It takes her a moment to realize that there issomeone else on the street, and she only half glances at them, expecting them to be one of the other Eden occupants, and then she looks back quickly, surprised at what she sees.

She's never personally been a huge fan of Star Trek, but Mickey had liked it, and the Doctor had sometimes made batty remarks about the show, so she immediately takes note of the costume.

She would ask if he was Patrick Stewart, but she knows he's quite a bit older these days, even though her mum always said he'd kept well.

And she realizes she is staring a bit, and closes her mouth, waving. "Erm, hello!"

Picard, who is busily examining the wall for possibly the twelfth time, looks up and gives a tight smile to the young woman coming towards him.

"Hello."
