Steph has absolutely no idea what to do with stressing and worrying babies, so of course she runs into them at the edge of an alleyway.

"Hey. You guys okay?" she asks, concerned.

"Yeah," Mel says, jiggling Loo back and forth to sooth her crying. "Mostly. We're just tetchy this morning. We're not sleeping well right now, are we, Crybaby?

"We?" Steph asks, a little bit amused. "Oh, I guess if she's not you're all not ... is there something I can do?"

"No," Mel says promptly, still rocking. "Unless you know if there's baby cough syrup around anywhere? I've checked the clinic and the store already."

Sokka has received a full report from Hana's Fire-breathing Daddy, fretted briefly (and probably only because Zuko didn't mind the company), and then got kicked off the roof himself. But the whole thing does remind him to get busy on the playpen, as well as other things. Like finding the generator that controls the lights on the street so that he can possibly tap into it, steal a bunch of power, and make--

Well, something that needs a lot of power, supposedly.

Which means he's back on supply run, looking for better tools or tool-substitutions and finding a sister and a niece on the street instead. "Hey," he greets them both. Loo gets a cheek-kiss but Mel only gets the greeting. Poor Mel.

Poor Mel. She could probably do with a hug or something as well. She'll just have to deal.

"Hey," she says, wiping at Loo's cheek to get all the nasty uncle-germs off her. "Have you seen Hana? How is she?"

"Really, really excited about all the attention she's getting," Sokka replies, kissing Loo again once Mel's hands are gone. Uncle-germs are good for little girls! Really! "She coughed a couple of times but Zuko doesn't seem really worried. He said her breath is okay.

"I volunteered to try and find seal-fat tea for her but he turned me down." Sokka grins brightly, even as he shrugs. "Sometimes it's fun to just make up stuff that sounds like 'Traditional Water Tribe remedies' just to see that look on his face."

"Seal-fat tea doesn't sound like a Water-Tribe remedy," Mel says skeptically.
