A moment later, two heads poke out from the window of a squat, dirty brick building. One is brown and curious, the other is black-haired and waving tiny arms and legs.
"BAH!"
"Hang on," says the head capable of coherent speech. "I'll be right out." A few minutes later, he's out the door and on the street and walking toward her, the baby settled on his hip.

She steps back, even from the baby, and backs against the wall.
The wall that doesn't have a door in it.
"What's going on?"

"Well, um..."
"Ahhh momomomo."
"Yes, I know, shh for a second." The baby's hair is ruffled gently and Sokka tries to smile as non-threateningly as possible. "Uhm... how familiar are you with different dimensions, universes, all that stuff?"

She's settled on a makeshift chin-up bar across the doorway of one of the abandoned buildings near the wall. This is the first time she's seen someone appear, and it's sort of anticlimactic. Still, she settles into her chair, runs a ratty looking towel across her face, and rolls forward.
"Hello."

The wheelchair helps Barbara seem non-threatening, but she still takes one small step back.
"What's going on?"

She nods at the wall, "See where it says 'Eden'? That's what we've been calling the place."

"That's not what I asked."
