This is just very very sick...and such a bill WAS FREAKING SHUT DOWN FOR PRIVACY ISSUES!! Now anyone who flew in June (including myself) will have no say in the fact that the government is stripping away our rights of privacy, one step at a time...

As BAD as that may sound.... twilight_rants September 23 2004, 16:27:43 UTC
It's a given, if you want safety then you are going to loose freedom. Which would you rather have safety or freedom of privacy? One has to choose between the two because you can'tave both. They need to beable to screen for terrorist and potential threats to our way of life and if that means they need to invade my privacy so I won't fly into a national monument then by all means I'd rather live safe than live free.

See...that's how it starts. "Oh, so long as I'm safe, it's okay that they can walk into my home at any time and take whatever they want because I have the same name as a potential terrorist". It's absolutely disgusting that you buy into the whole fear campagn that the past three years have revolved around. I, for one, choose freedom and democracy over the very very very very (*adds a few more dozen very's in there*) small chance that a terrorist might board a plane I'm on.

It's your privy... however there are many Americans who disagree with that. Frankly, if a terrorist tries to take over a plane I'm on and I think I'm going to die anyway I'd bum rush the fucker. And so would 3/4 of the US at this point. But hey!!! Those are the choices you are faced with... and you chose to live dangerously...

Mind if I interject twilight and streea? teremir_nailos January 5 2005, 04:44:02 UTC
Freedom is my choice and I must say, I much more agree with Streea because the government has used scare tactics to trick people like you into thinking that invasion of privacy is completely fine over freedom. Although I do agree that in order for safety there must be an invasion of privacy, I also think it doesn't matter because any system made by man can be bypassed by man. So, no matter how much they search and check people.. there will still be ways to be terrorists. I also feel that was a totally isolated event and the chances of that happening again are so minuscule it's not even funny. Well... I'm done here. If you want, add me to your friends and talk with me some more, I'd much enjoy debating this with you if you wish. Farewell for now, Brightest Blessings and Blessed Be!
