I've hit a milestone at work that I didn't expect. It's my five year anniversary of toiling at Safeway, I find this incredibly shocking as it is a job where we all have these vague plans of leaving but it just never really works. But for the long term this is a decent job for me, of course my store manager had to present me with the stuff

Woo! Congrats on 5 years! What kind of gift do you get? Joe got a camera for 5 years.

That's so terrible about your coworker, but at least it is good to know that Safeway is being so supportive of the widow. Hopefully G4S is helping her out too. Can't even imagine what she must be going through.

I don't get anything as extravagant as a camera. They have some vases and inexpensive jewelry, still not sure what I should get!

Congrats on 5 years! It's boggling to think that that much time has passed (and that you're at the same job) - Hey, I've been at the lab for over 3 yrs now and that's the longest i've held a single job for! Went so fast though!
So, do you get to choose something out of a catalogue then? (I hear we get to) Whatever you get for a anniversary gift, I hope it's something nice! Milk them for all they're worth!!!
