After that time we went downtown and my phone was stolen-- well, you remember...
I've never really gotten over my fear of the city. Never since then. Honestly. Even when I go with my brother down to the loop I get nervous. Part of it is my anxiety disorder but part of it stems from that act that kind of sent me on a downward spiral in terms of city-paranoia. I wish I'd taken steps to correct it ealier on but now it's a bit ingrained.
My brother spends a lot of time in the city with his girlfriend and I'm going to try to go out more with them and get some of that urban confidence back. I'll keep this post in mind.
