My mom recently wrote a post on her English-language blog that was mostly about the state of Russian society and Russian opposition to Putin’s rule, and… Those are some of the issues I’ve been thinking about, and this post just compelled me to finally put it to digital paper.

Thank you for this, it's fascinating context, and you have lots of my sympathy for the deeply unpleasant situation you're in (while acknowledging that others obviously have it worse).

Also, I totally understand why this is locked down, but it's a shame, because more people should know some of it.

Honestly, aside from the obvious reasons, the big part why it's locked down is that I didn't want to deal with my mom's reaction at that moment. But I'm going to unlock it, see if it stays up.
