Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to kaffyrBoy oh boy has this year been a doozy. Still not quite a "collapse of an entire country, and with it an entire way of life" doozy, but it's pretty up there. So I wish, first and foremost, do you (and Bob) make it through this coming year safe and healthy. And that you'll find more joys in these trying times, and some victories. ( Read more... )

Many thanks for the birthday wishes, and oh boy, do I agree with you on this year. I'm withholding judgement on just what sort of doozy we're dealing with, but I'm hoping like hell that it becomes boringly wonderful, or wonderfully boring, by Dec. 31.

I was looking at some of your pictures, and it amazes me how many people who would have every right in the world not to be hopeful can find some light and hope. Bless 'em.

Yes, let's try for a day next week? The only day I've got something going on is Thursday morning. As for a place, why not meet at an outdoor coffee shop, if morning is your choice (I need coffee in the morning, and if we're on an outdoor patio and masked, I think we'll be safe enough. There's one on Rogers just east of Ashland, and it's pretty decent. Let me know.

I'm not sure which coffee shop you mean, since the only coffee shop I can think of anywhere in that vicinity is Sol Cafe on Howard... Unless you're talking about CHarmers Cafe at Jarvis and Glenview.

Whatever the case may be... Looking at meeting agendas for potential conflicts, Tuesday morning may be our best shot.

Tuesday would work for me - and yes, I was thinking of Charmers. Their patio is really quite charming, you should excuse the stupid joke; its only shortcoming is the predilection of bees to come and investigate whatever one is trying to ingest. And if we're simply having coffee, that is potentially less of a problem.

On the other hand, Sol allows a small number of people inside; if we chose an early enough time Tuesday, we could probably secure a couple of seats.

Let me know which you'd prefer, and what time; I can walk to either of them.

I'd say let's do Charmers, for the simple reason that I've never been there before, and meeting with you is a pretty good reason to check it out.

How does 9:00 AM sound?
