Last week started out on an ominous note and just kept on getting worse.

First, there were bombs sent to former government officials and CNN. It was unnerving, to be sure, especially when bombs kept on coming, but bomber Cesar Sayoc was apprehended, and at least none of the bombs actually went off.

Huh? Jewishness traditionally gets passed down matrilially, which means Grandpa Roma and Grandpa Slava were both Jewish, even if only in the ethnic group sense. And you yourself wrote that your university admissions issues had to do with you being half-Jewish in the eyes of the Soviet government

It's complicated:). I was actually NOT officially Jewish, not even officially half-jewish, because my father was officially Polish :), and uncle Slava officially Russian with zero Russian blood in his veins, believe it or not.

It's going to get worse, because the Left and the Right both are only interested in antisemitism as a cudgel in their political fights. And, given that the Left is unwilling to seriously deal with it within its own ranks...
