That was a touching story indeed. :)

I was one of those "strange" girls who didn't like dolls much, but I still have my favourite teddy bear hidden behind my clothes on the top shelf of my wardrobe. :) He's in such a pitiful state that I would have to make him a new "skin" if I wanted to restore him.

I guess they didn't have "Спокойной Ночи Малыщи" in Bulgaria (which shouldn't be surprising to me, honestly). But it fit. It's a nostalgic song that transcends generations, and the first verse is about tired toys going to sleep.

Grandma Nina, my mom's mom, brought me my favorite toy (a cat named Рыжик) a few years back. He has a place of honor on my bookshelf, along with an akilosaurus Anna made me for me when she was six, and the bunny Lore gave me. When I read my mom's post, I went to hug Рыжик and kept hugging him for a while.

I found a video of the song on YouTube last night. :)

No, we had our own goodnight children's show (although it must have featured Soviet cartoons now and then) and I still feel nostalgic for it sometimes:

Do you have a photo of that cat?
