Thank you. What puts an extra salt on the wound is that, while I'm not surprised it happened, it came with no real advance warning. With the Chicago Journal, I knew that the paper was going to shut down almost two months before it did, so I at least had time to prepare (not that it did me much good, but there was time). And with Niles Herald-Spectator, there was at least some lead-up. This time, there was no prelude, no time to prepare, just - that's it, we're done with you.

As I said before on Twitter - crap. This is pure crap.

I wonder if enough time has passed (and enough people have changed) at Pioneer that you might be able to put some string time in with them? I'd vouch for your work.

I was just think that it wouldn't hurt to at least try. I just found out that my last editor at Pioneer isn't even with the company any more, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But either way, I'm going to at least try.

Ideally, I'd like to see you hired as a full-time reporter; god knows, we need them. That would give you benefits as well as a steady paycheck. But I can't say that's a realistic possibility at this point. Because management is not wise.

You and me both. But like you said, odds are against me on this one.
