Odessa is in Ukraine, but it always was quite an international city, with very substantial Jewish population

NB: Вологжанка was from Vologda, there was no Volgograd in the empire (that city was called Tsaritsin). And Arkhangelsk is only historically the northernmost significant city in Russia.
