No worries on not getting us anything.. you did give us a free tour after all. And I swear it really was the shoes. I've still got a scab on the upper part of my right foot where the inside of the shoe was cutting into me and making it difficult to keep up the pace with you guys. Once I switched to my flats the rest of the weekend I didn't have as much of a problem keeping pace with you and Jak.. unlike Noel. :)
Ouch (about the scab). And, as far as the present - part of it is that I really was going to try to get you guys some Russian sweets, but it didn't work out. Plus, I just think you got me some pretty nice gifts. Turns out pralines go great with black tea and the newspapers were pretty interesting reads (took me a few days to read them all from cover to cover, but it was worth it. And now, they are going to make cool additions to my collection.
To be fair, regarding my annoyance, I had to start the con the next day with multiple blisters on my feet, which I had to keep breaking and draining all weekend. It's not that it was a bad tour, it just wasn't the right time in the trip for it, and you kinda need to give people a heads up before you just take them off on one. That said, I am glad I got to see Chinatown.
I wasn't sure if you necessarily wanted me to talk about blisters in a public forum. And I wasn't trying to say that you thought it was a bad tour. Just that I made you walk a little a lot more than you expected. And that, in retrospect, I should have made it clearer how much walking that would actually entail.
But I'm glad you you're glad that you got to see Chinatown
Between the new baby, my grandfather's funeral, and my husband working so much overtime, there was no way we were going to make the con this year. We will make it someday, though. Glad everyone else had a good time.
I'm sure we will all meet up sooner or later, if not for a con than for some other reason. Especially since Indianapolis metropolitan area is way closer to Chicago than, say, New Orleans.
