(Before I get started: it has only just occured to me today that "Back in the nick of time" is actually very clever. Oh, slogans with multiple puns, you are so often lost on me. Also, I stuck the RT cover in my locker this morning

Ha, well, I suppose it wasn't so much a cool assignment as that it was so very open-ended that I thought it would be a crime not to turn it into something fun, just because I could. My conclusion: more vague briefs, please, school!
Also, you do Japanese! I am all excited and impressed and intrigued. I'm sort of doing the GCSE course at the moment, except it's not really official, and I'm actually being taught by my mum, who now and again doesn't really understand what she's teaching us anyway, so it's not really quite the same. But, still! My general understanding/conversational skills are fairly poor, but I'm quite good at reading and writing characters (I then just don't know what the stuff I have read/written means). Anyway, I am going to Japan for two weeks in the Easter holidays, and am hugely, hugely excited.
Yes! My family's been saving up for a big Japan holiday for ages, and now it's nearly here, and I cannot wait. My mum lived in Japan for two years in the eighties, teaching English and German, and she got really interested in the culture and the language, etc, and has always wanted to go back, but has only been able to a few times because of distance/cost. I've been once before, when I was six, but I don't really remember much of it. This'll be the first time when I'm old enough to have a clue what's going on.
Umm, I'm not entirely sure where we're going. I know we're starting with two days in Tokyo, and I think Kanazawa is involved at some point, possibly Osaka, Kobe, Hiroshima, er, and others? (I should probably find out, shouldn't I?)
All of this made me giggle with the sheer trueness, but 'NELSON: I am intriguing. Ignore this! Have a pint.' had me crowing with laughter. This is brilliant, and I hope you get the fantastic mark you deserve. Will you let us know if you get any interesting feedback on it?
I'm so glad you liked it! :D Writing the script thing was unbelievably good fun, made even more so by the fact I spent the whole time thinking "I can't believe this is actually work".
I don't know about interesting feedback, but we all had to read our pieces out to the class (which was a bit difficult: mine ended up peppered with, "Er, this bit isn't really going to work out loud... it, um, works better on paper...")--but anyway, everyone seemed to like it, and my teacher and two classmates have promised me they will watch it now, which must be a good thing. One girl also said that she thought it was good, but wasn't I being "a bit sort of high-register" for a blog? I eventually had to give my entire class an explanation of LJ, because no-one knew what it was, and convince them that people on it can actually write, and that no, it would not be appropriate for me to spell everything wrong and not write in full sentences. They looked a bit unconvinced, and I eventually conceded that I would explain it all in the commentary, so it was
Do you know, if I'd had the space, I would have done a more detailed relationship section, and quite honestly would have promoted the good and true Sam/Gene love--because, hey, aren't schools meant to be all cutting edge and stuff now? They'd have had to roll with it. The story I wrote for the first piece ended up well within six degrees of me just writing slash, to be honest, and everyone seemed cool with that, so... I think my conclusion is "I hate word limits". And I had to be content with just sticking a slash in between their names. Sigh.
I was going to fill this comment with "lolslash" and "lolgay" and "lolschool", but rather feel that I should instead say: OMG YOU HAVE RETURNED WERE YOU JUST IN A ROOM WITH SIMON PEGG HOW WAS IT WAS IT AWESOME
(No, no punctuation for you. And yes, caps. Neener.)
Ahaha, well, I originally picked up on the fact that the "time" part in "Back in the nick of time" was kind of clever, because of the time-travel element, but then it was explained to me that there's also "nick", which is like "prison", and they're policemen, and so... I'm really quite easily amused?
Really? You're honestly going to watch it? :D x many! Yes! I am proud! Honestly, if I have convinced a single person to watch this show, I truly believe I have made the world a slightly better place. You have good taste. You will love it.
Yes, series two is starting at 9pm tomorrow, BBC1. It would be better, obviously, if you'd seen the first series already, but I reckon you could go straight into series two now that you have a basic grasp of what's going on the show, and you'd be alright. You started on GW with the special, actually, didn't you? Blimey, you'll be fine.
I am honestly going to watch it! I am putting aside my Prime Suspect dvds to watch it, which means you should be even more proud ;-)
I did start on GW with the special. I am clearly insane. If you get a comment resembling this: "OMG WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? I STILL LIKED IT YAYE", then do not be alarmed. It means good things!

Also, I imagine you got a cheeky kick out of the forward slash in 'Sam/Gene conflict', much as I did. Gay relationship indeed.

Also, tell your English teacher that and see if it gets you a better mark ;-) I love the idea for the coursework and it is brilliant. *cheers*
So, yes. Is it on tomorrow?
