I honestly think they did overplay the Harry/Ginny.... Actually, no, all romance in general and downplayed the horcruxes and the actual Half-Blood Prince himself.
And... WTF funeral? Fight scene at Hogwarts? Where'd those go? And the exclusion of Scrimgeor and what happened to Voldemort's entire backstory? The exclusion of Bill and the wedding.. Him becoming a werewolf even.

I'll agree with the all romance being overplayed. Lavender had waaay too big a part when they should have focused more on the plot and telling us what the Horcruxes were, i.e. the Hogwarts Founders items, Nagani, etc. But in general, they didn't overplay Harry/Ginny like I thought they would
