I should stop messing around, because I've known since I was 15 that I should just commit.

I just bought this camera. it is indeed a kick-ass camera and well worth the investment, imo. of course, the only way i could "afford" it was to charge it all on my office depot cc, but oh well...i'd waited for over a year and it was time, dammit. good luck!

That is indeed the best camera on the market today, and well-priced for all ya git. The lens is a great lower-end lens that mocks an exorbitant pro lens, and I particularly like all the manual functions you can tweak (but you can still set it to "idiot snaps" for on-the-fly stuff). Definitely worth dedicating your change jar to it.

You might want to hold off on that for a bit... The XTi is getting discontinued and replaced with the XS sometime around the end of July. So, XTi prices will drop while folks clear out their inventory or just get the XS which is supposed to be around the same ballpark price.
