Strangefellows - same time as always

Apr 16, 2009 20:22

It was not a secret that Harry and Charity Rosencrans were very different people (to the point where Harry often took a different last name, just to keep people from wondering why his sister was so psychotically possessive of him and so that if the fact they had had sex came up neither of them had to explain), but oddly enough ... they both enjoyed ( Read more... )

From what I've heard, she's right. That's why I can't keep the chuckle from popping out while I sip on my own brandy.

Alex gives me a look for scaring off new business, but I pass him a grin right back. He knows I'm just doing the best I can to make Strangefellows the disreputable pit of scum and villainy he loathes.

While Charity trots off to find something to drink from Alex, Harry wanders over to find somewhere to sit ... and ends up next to John.

He flashes him a bright smile.

Yeah, he's definitely new.

Oh dear god, someone brought their puppy in with them today.

"Unless you're aiming to get a second one of those a few inches down, I'd be a little more careful who you shine those on," I pointed out, hoping I didn't scare him too much. A certain amount of fear is healthy, especially in the Nightside, but I know I have something of a reputation, after all.

Harry didn't know what that meant, exactly, but he managed to dull down the smile a little and shrugged instead.

He'd retort to being Charity's puppy if he knew that John was making the comparison ... but it was pretty accurate and he couldn't fault the man for being right.

"Sorry. I'm Harry." At least he didn't give the man his last name? "And that's Charity." He waved toward the bar.

Deadboy has been spending a ridiculous amount of time moping around Strangefellows lately, and he's beginning to think it's not entirely healthy (to his reputation and his social status, at the very least). He's been plopped down at the bar for a good half hour now, and although nothing particularly interesting is happening, he can't seem to bring himself to move.

Charity spotted Deadboy with an arched brow and stepped over to him with a nod.

Yeah, he'd start picking up girls like her if he wasn't careful...

There is a moment's pause, and then Deadboy manages to break out of his daydreams and realize there's someone looking at him. He blinks for a moment before managing a "Hello there" to the purple-haired young woman approaching the bar. (God, he's eloquent tonight.)

She spends a lot of her time with people like her brother, so eloquence wasn't exactly a priority with her.

"Hey there. I'm Charity." Though the slightly nasty grin she's giving him is probably less-than-charitable.
