*heartclutch*

Man, I forgot how much I liked the actual Harry Potter story. I went into this one not expecting much, since the last few have just felt so damn rushed (Plot point! Plot point! HOLY SHIT, GET TO THE NEXT PLOT POINT, GO, GO!) but this was lovely with a more Lord of the Rings-esque pace and time to admire the scenery and have moments ( Read more... )

STRONGLY AGREE. :D

I really love how they handled Draco in this movie, actually; iit seemed like they managed to make him more complex and interesting than he was in the actual books, and he only said about six words. xDD

Hear, hear. He had a lovely moment there when he was staring at messed-up-face!Harry and not saying anything. And I'd very helpfully forgotten what he did during that scene in the book, so I was holding my breath, man! XD

the scenery WAS gorgeous! And the actors are all awesome. I'm particularly impressed with Rupert Grint, b/c as much as I dislike Ron as a character, he does an excellent fucking job with him. The whole conversation about the little ball of light? *hearts*

I just hate that we have to wait until July for the next part!

He did do an excellent job!! And kudos to whoever managed to make the poor guy look so wrecked during his low points... It made me exhausted to look at him.

July?! My sister was telling me 'the spring', so I was hoping April/May-ish! Noooo!

Apt analogy is apt! I kept expecting someone to pull a "NO, IT IS MY PRECIOUS!" What is it with epic adventure movies and evil jewelry, I ask you?

Booooo. Well, at least it's not a full year or anything, eh?

Makes me wish they'd broken up some of the other movies as well, but what can ya do...

This, this, this. A thousand times THIS! All of it, dude. God. Why haven't they been breaking them up since GoF? Then maybe the non book readers would have cared about a certain thing near the end that had my 'I don't cry in movies' sister bawling.

Also, why don't I have even one HP related icon anymore? So wrong.

Hear, hear. Order of the Phoenix in particular felt like it ought to have been two, since that book was largely setting the scene perfectly for this one.

Ahhh, me neither! Not even my little Ravenclaw pride one. That makes me sad.

Only reason I brought up GoF was that's really where the attachment to Dobby for me got solidified, and Hermione's efforts to free ALL of them. But yeah, OotF was a rushed disaster as far as I'm concerned because had I not read the book I wouldn't have had a bloody clue what was going on or why anything was important. I had a parent on either side asking questions the whole time. You definitely have a point with setting the scene for this one.

Must find source caps and make some soon. Really.

It was a very LOTR sort of pace, you're right! Which gave me time to appreciate the eerie quiet and beauty of all the places they camped in, it made them feel so small with the enormity of their ~~quest. TRIO.

The scene on the sand dunes? I WAS BAWLING. WHAT? Where did that COME from? LOL

Couldn't have phrased it better myself! They've always done a beautiful job with the sets and scenery, but with so much of the previous books taking place in Hogwarts, they didn't have as much room to play, so I'm glad they took advantage of this one!

Heee! Alas, that was when The Exorcist decided to show up, so I may have been giggling! My sister was all leaky-eyed over that part though, most definitely.

Oh yes! It was amazingly well paced. And they didn't fuck with the storyline too much.

Okay dude. I teared up at Emma's first scene. I was what? Three minutes in and crying... :(
