I didn't get lost!

*victory arms*

Got there early and had two people ask me if I was a lawyer on the way in, which was flattering. Picked a courtroom, strolled in at 9:45 (knowing that they hear the types of cases I needed starting at 10:00), realized that people were already in there arguing away, panicked, forgot to bow to the judge on my way ( Read more... )

so sue me!, thinking them deep thoughts

I think you've got this lawyer thing figured out pretty well. I'd have totally loaned you the cash. I have an emergency stash.

I think I laughed like three times while reading this. Two thumbs up!

I used to have so much trouble crossing the border when I was a teenage punk, but now, none at all! I'm glad that worked out for you!

Whoot! Glad to provide a giggle!

Now that I think about it, I also didn't get as thorough a search from the security folks on the way in as I did before. Don't ask me where this sudden air of respectability came from... I've got them all fooled! *G*

The suit is definitely a powerful thing - also being a girl is a powerful thing. How many of the youngsters and couriers were male that they checked, eh? It always baffles me when guys hold the elevators for me at work, or let me go out first. I'm like, 'I'm a girl, so what?!'

Also...huzzah for the dead client case. Those kinds of situations are always unfortunately amusing. "Why aren't you paying your taxes?!" "Uh, hi, they're dead. thxbye."

I've noticed that too! When I was in skirt-and-blouse secretary garb (Ha! I typed 'security'! I wish I'd worked in security...) I'd get doors held and the occasional wolf-whistle. With the suit, it's a less leer-y kind of courtesy. (But you totally called it... All the folks I saw getting tickets were men.)

It was awesome. The judge told the lawyer that she could go back to Calgary and tell her boss that it had been a hard-fought battle. *G* Heck of a drive for a thirty-second case!

I'm superglad you didn't get lost! And that your day seems to have been a success!

Also superglad you didn't get a ticket. Who knows when those criminal records will interfere with your international travel?

Me too! I'd strategized to go with a group and everything, but they went on the one day I had a presentation, so that was a no-go... Luckily, found it! *g*

AHAHA. I didn't even think of that. I'm pretty sure you don't get a record for a public transit ticket if you just pay the thing though, right...? O_O
