"I think we're gonna need a bigger box."

Apparently I own 12 pairs of shoes. 12 pairs, for one pair of feet. Is that normal??

More interestingly, it appears that I'm going to need about five times as many boxes for books than I will for shoes. O_o Now I know that isn't normal. In tangent-y news, my mom got to meet my boss (ex-boss?) in line at a sandwich shop today, and promptly came ( Read more... )

movin' on up

I can't walk in anything over 2 inches...well not without crutches and that kinda defeats the object LOL

This time of year there's always a shoe glut, there's a store that sells flip flops for less that $4 a pair, so I go nuts and buy a pair in every conceivable colour and then come the end of the summer I throw them away. It appeases the closet space monster and means come next summer I get to do it all again *g*

Oh, but you could get stylish matching crutches to go with those heels! *G* It'd be a whole new look!

Now that is how summer should be celebrated, seriously. I want a flip flop rainbow in my closet now too! :-D

ONLY TWELVE???!!!

Holy cow. Way to make me feel ashamed.

I buy shoe containers at the Container Store and then throw the rest in a big ol' box (or three) to fumble through.

On the bright side, your shock makes me feel happily justified in using up two whole boxes just for shoes now. *GG*

Methinks I'm going to have to invest in something like that pretty soon!

Books? Shoes? azryal June 25 2007, 22:19:17 UTC
When my mom moved into the house she is in now, she had 57 boxes of books.

And

I have 9-10 pairs of shoes, and 10 pairs of boots. You're fine. Don't worry.

Yay for new home! I love moving into a new place.

Oh man, your mom sounds like my kind of gal! I shall totally aspire to own (and have read!) 57 boxes of books one day too. *g*

Ooh! I forgot to count my winter boots! 13 pairs now! *dances*

It's certainly making me realize exactly how much stuff I own, I'll tell you that. But I'm definitely looking forward to the living-away-from-home experience. Pictures to follow, once I've unleashed my inner Martha Stewart. ;-D

Well, you've got me beat in the shoe department, but only slightly. That being said? I have the same size feet as Alison, so when I'm in Vancouver I've suddenly got like, 100+ pairs of shoes at my disposal... she has more shoes by her front door at any given time than my mom, sister and I combined (though mine started living in my room when my sister's idiot friends couldn't not spill booze all over them). And my sister probably has 30 pairs of shoes. Do not stress. lol.

I fear the day I move out of this house and have to pack up my books again, seriously... I have so many...

Hee! Me and my mom definitely did a bit of frantic last minute shoe-trading when I started putting things in boxes. It's nice having someone with the same size feet as you, eh? :-D

I had this grand plan to comb through my shelves and take all the ones I didn't want anymore to the used book shop. And then I discovered that I wanted to keep them all, dammit, and my plan was foiled. Ha! Yay for book-a-holics!

Yes, it is. It was nicer when she was on the Island, too, but what can you do? :)

See, I did that a couple months ago, sure there was tons of stuff I could trade in for store credit, and yet I couldn't bare to part with practically all of them. I did hand over the incomplete Narnia set, 'cause well, Nora got me a full set a few years ago and I didn't really need the old ones anymore. But otherwise nothing went in the box with the stuff mom was getting rid of. *shakes head*
