Oooh, yay, new update! Eep. I wonder how Jayne is going to try and pull Johnny away from Ophelia. I think she's going to struggle a bit with it though, no matter what she does. Or am I wrong?
Will Jayne struggle? Well, don't ask me... because I don't even fully know yet. Welcome to the point in the story where I don't have any plans. Or rather, I do, but they are sketchy at best. I know where I'm going, but not how I'm going to get there.
Jayne is going to try to come up with something, and there are a number of approaches she might take. She might choose to try to reason with Johnny, since her own approach is one of reason over emotion, unlike him.
I still stand by my original comment. Ripp hasn't earned any new points in my book. He's still a douche. (I don't care that he adores St. Phi and all that "he can change" stuff--right NOW he's a nozzle and I will react accordingly

I'm at work so I can't comment fully. But I just wanted to say AWESOME update... and how weird is it, that I was playing "Beginning to See the Light" earlier and singing along, and I've had it earwormed since. Then you used it! So COOL!
Those shallow sorority girls, Ophelia is an amazing girl. I really felt for her. She's always keeps to herself, it's so hard for her, I imagine. I'm glad Johnny chose Ophelia, but I know it isn't going to be that easy. Those two are so sweet together.
Frances is just...the most huggable Strangetown character ever. He should wear a sign that says, "Free Hugs." Tank really opened up to Frances, has he ever told anyone what he told Frances? Other than Buzz, of course.
"I mean, we can have sex again sometime."
"Well, yes. I thought we already agreed to do that." He patted her shoulder and laughed.
I laughed. Stella is so funny, she is just so clueless. You just want to pat her on the shoulder and say, "It's okay!"
Yes, I did. It was a good suggestion, and I did think that it might be best for Ripp to deal with that curiosity head on, like you had mentioned. And then, it gave me a chance to have an intimate exchange between Johnny and Ripp, which we haven't seen in a while.
It is hard for Ophelia to make friends, which is why she is so very attached to the ones that she does have.
Tank really did open up to Frances there. He hasn't really told anyone about the scar, not even Buzz, because he was too embarrassed about it. As for the alien thing, I'm sure that Ripp and Buck both suspect that he feels that way, since they know that their father did. Ripp is pretty aware of his dislike for Johnny. Johnny is one of the major things that stand between Ripp and Tank seeing eye to eye.
Stella is just very literal most of the time. Ripp always has to drop his innuendo and just spell it out that he wants to have sex with her. *chuckle* Yes, exactly. Ripp patted her on the shoulder as if to say, "What am I going to do with you?"
so, i got through the entire thing in one night. i'm quite proud of myself. shows you how little i have to do during the day. -rolls eyes-
anyway, i am just sucked right into this story, the characters are all so well developed, i'm already craving the next chapter. i'm in agreement with Frances being the most hugable character. my heart broke for him when he saw Tank kissing Kendal. i think that if he doesn't get a happy ending here, i'ma have to give him one every time i play him myself. :P
Ripp...god, with every chapter he wavers between outright sleaze and douchebaggery and "I can change!"ness. yes, i did just make two new words up right there. i'm in love with anti heroes, though, and a hot sleazeball who sleeps around and has daddy issues? :D i'm there.
i'll be on the lookout for your next chapter, for sure. :)
Thank you. For better or worse, I try to get into the heads of the characters, and it's not always pretty in there. I'm glad that you have enjoyed it so far. (I can get like that when I'm reading something too. It's fun to immerse yourself. I'm glad that you found this worthy of doing that with
